The run-up in housing prices resulted from lax lending standards that made money available to anyone who could frost a mirror, regardless of his credit-worthiness. Is anyone asking homeowners who sold their houses at inflated prices to give back their ill-gotten gains? Why not? It's not like the bankers were the only ones who profited from this. Let me see.
